DLK To Open Flagship Store In West Chester, PA In April 2024

Behind the scenes at Design Life Kids Office with CEO Kim Wardell

Design Life Kids aka DLK (www.designlifekids.com) announces that it will open its first store in West Chester’s Marketplace at Westtown on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 10:00 am EST. The Marketplace at Westtown is situated in one of Chester County’s best residential markets—strategically just east of downtown West Chester.

Founded by mother of two, Kimberly Wardell, DLK was started from her living room ten years ago — a lifelong dream and a form of therapy after a life changing event of her husband’s sudden passing.

Originally a blog called Design Life Kids, the online lifestyle store began in 2014, and is known for its curation and keen eye for design, providing both kids and adults with a full collection of sustainable pieces to fill the home and the wardrobe. With a focus on modern design, DLK features small boutique designers and internationally adored brands.

DLK was created to be a singular destination for parents to shop modern pieces, special finds, and long-lasting collections that can be passed down. Bringing joy and style to the everyday adventures of parenting. DLK specializes in high-quality pieces designed to spark imagination, enhance play, and nurture little one’s through all of life’s unique moments.

The lifestyle store has grown immensely with a warehouse, office space, and now, flagship store. The approximately 3,000 square foot store will offer a curated collection of fashion, accessories, toys, and decor for children ages 0-16 years.

Kids will be able to play and test out beautiful wooden toys and furniture in the Playspace at DLK firsthand while parents shop. The space will be sponsored by local brand, Posh Po, creators of high-quality furniture and wooden toys, which will also be available for purchase at DLK.

Design Life Kids founder, Kim Wardell opens first store

Founder and CEO, Kim said,

“This is a dream come true. When I first started DLK, it was my therapy, a positive way to spend my sleepless nights, and a way to share my love for great design. I wanted parents like myself to still enjoy our homes without sacrificing our space. To design life “with” kids. I sought out high quality, small family brands that embodied the same ideas. Ten years later, here we are with this idea from my living room, where I worked with my two little daughters, now side by side with my beautiful teenage daughters… pinch me!”

To give back to the community that inspired the brand, DLK’s mission includes a partnership with Circle Camps, a non-profit organization that provides free summer camp for girls who have experienced the death of a parent. The “Designs For Charity” Collection, inspired by DLK daughter’s Maya and Senna, and their late father Scott Wardell, encourage people to #findthebeautyineveryday. All proceeds from the collection are donated to Circle Camps and donations will be accepted at the flagship store.
